GIVING BACK THROUGH INLET

I'm proud to share that a portion of every Inlet book will be donated to the homeless shelter closest to the home we photograph. A project rooted in the meaning of home felt incomplete without acknowledging those who don't yet have one. This contribution is my small way of bringing more people closer to a place they can call their own.

Hi, I'm Shawn. I grew up around Georgian Bay, surrounded by family and friends whose homes have been passed down through generations, so I understand what a place can hold.

While architectural photographers create beautiful images for designers, and family photographers capture the people inside a home - I photograph the home itself, with the same care we usually reserve for the people we love.

After spending five years documenting weddings, I came to realize something.

We carefully preserve memories of life's biggest moments.

Yet the places that quietly held those moments are often forgotten.

Inlet grew from that realization.

Today, I bring the same calm presence and thoughtful eye I've developed through years of photographing life's most meaningful days to the spaces that deserve remembering just as much.

    INQUIRY + DISCOVERY CALL

    Fill out the short form below with your name, contact info, location, and your preferred time of year. We'll review your request and follow up within two business days to solidify your date and book a call to chat through details and answer any questions you may have.

    DEPOSIT & INTAKE

    Once we've confirmed availability, a $500 deposit locks in your session date. Closer to your session, we'll send a short questionnaire — the rooms and the feeling you want to keep. Any special corners or details worth knowing about are always welcome.

    THE SESSION

    Up to a few hours in the morning or afternoon for Tier I and II homes; a full day or split session for Tier III estates. We work quietly and carefully, treating every home with the same care we'd want for our own.

    DESIGN & PREVIEW

    A full digital preview of your book - sequenced, designed, and ready for your feedback. Up to three rounds of revisions before anything goes to print.

    APPROVAL & PRINT

    Once you're happy with the design, you sign off and the balance is due. The book goes to press.

    DELIVERY

    Allow eight weeks from approval for your book to arrive at your door. Your digital gallery follows one week after that.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • A light tidy before the session is always welcome — a quick vacuum, surfaces wiped down. But we're not here to photograph a showhome. The goal is to capture the space the way your family actually lives in it: the books on the shelf, the worn chair by the window, the way the light falls on a room that's been yours for years. A little life in the frame is exactly what makes the book feel real.

  • Absolutely, you're more than welcome to be there. If life gets in the way and you need to step out, we're equally comfortable working on our own. Quietly, carefully, and with full respect for your home.

  • Tier I and II homes are typically up to a few hours — morning or afternoon, based on your preference. Tier III estates are a full day, or occasionally split across two sessions depending on the scope.

  • We'll proceed with the interior as planned - bad weather rarely affects what matters most inside a home. For the exterior, we'll arrange a brief return visit on a nearby date when conditions cooperate.

  • After your date is confirmed, we'll send a detailed timeline so you always know where things stand. Once you've approved the final design, allow eight weeks for your album to arrive. Your digital gallery follows one week after delivery.

  • Yes — additional books are available at a reduced print cost, priced at time of order. Your digital gallery also includes access to an online print shop where individual prints can be ordered and delivered directly — ideal for siblings or family members who want a piece of the home on their wall.

  • Family homes, estates, cottages, chalets — any space that's meaningful to you is welcome here. If it's held your family, shaped your memories, or simply feels like somewhere worth keeping, that's enough. If it's meaningful to you, it's meaningful to us.

  • You have up to three rounds of revisions before anything goes to print. And if after seeing the design preview it still doesn't feel right — for any reason — your $500 deposit is returned in full. No difficult conversations, no partial credits.

  • As early as you can, especially if you have a specific season in mind. If you have a target window, reach out and we'll do our best to make it work.

  • I'm based out of Ottawa, and currently serve homes across Ontario and Quebec. If you're outside this area, reach out anyway. If we can make it work, we're happy to travel.
